The visibility in the Gulf of Orosei is 10 to 30 meters with an average of 20 meters depending on the currents. The amount of marine life in this area depends not only on plankton but also by the currents that make it an ideal habitat.
You will have the chance to come across herds of groupers, barracuda corvine and you will always be surrounded by the sea breams, present in large numbers in the Gulf. The best time for diving is Summer, when the visibility is around 20 meters and the weather conditions are stable.
The wrecks from World War II are in a good state of conservation: you can discover the tradeships like the KT12 , the Nasello, the Levante.

This wrecks make the Gulf of Orosei a great place to discover war relics. In this part of the coast took place what was later called "the tradeships war" in which the allied forces submarines tried to block supplies to North Africa. This mission was assigned to the British submarine torpedo Safari which sank many ships in the area. The hulls lying on the seabed are now home to many species of fishes. The cave-diving in the beautiful sea caves are also very popular, particularly in the central branch of the Grotta del Bue Marino or on the Grotta del Fico.

The Cala Gonone weather, mitigated by the seaproximity, is characterized by mild winters and warm dry summers.

As a result, also because of the shape of the area, it lends itself to various activities related to the sport, the main attraction that captures thousands of tourists each year, followed by crafts and local cuisine.

The characteristic wind of the area is the Mistral, which is manifested by irregular and variable winds gusts, conditioned by the gorges of the mountains in which is channeled and then reflected from the south-east.
