This wrecks make the Gulf of Orosei a great place to discover war relics. In this part of the coast took place what was later called "the tradeships war" in which the allied forces submarines tried to block supplies to North Africa. This mission was assigned to the British submarine torpedo Safari which sank many ships in the area. The hulls lying on the seabed are now home to many species of fishes. The cave-diving in the beautiful sea caves are also very popular, particularly in the central branch of the Grotta del Bue Marino or on the Grotta del Fico.
