Ziu Santoru beach

The beach of Ziu Santoru is considered by many the most beautiful beach in the Gulf of Orosei. It is located two km further north of Cala Luna, a few minutes’ navigation from Cala Gonone. It can also be reached on foot from Cala Fuili in just over an hour from the junction on the path that leads to Cala Luna. The beauty of Ziu Santoru, which takes its name from the shepherd who had his sheepfold in this area, is given by the very fine white sand of which the shoreline is composed and by the coloration of the sandy bottom.
On the north and south sides there is a greenish limestone cliff which, in this stretch of coast, is just over 40 meters high. There are numerous marine and terrestrial caves near the beach. One in particular can be accessed directly from the shore and is several hundred meters deep. We do not recommend venturing into unlit areas inside without a guide or adequate equipment and experience as it is very dangerous.
Rather, we recommend that you enjoy the beach and its shallows which will allow even less experienced swimmers to move away from the shore up to 100 meters safely as the water reaches knee height. Another point in favor of Ziu Santoru is that motorboats are not allowed to approach the beach as there is no lane of buoys for this purpose.
