Tottoi and "The secret of the seal"

The book “Tottoi” was written by Gianni Padoan in 1980 and Nippon Animation made it a cartoon in 1990.

The story of Tottoi is set in Cala Gonone and Dorgali in 1970s, when the monk seal still lived in the grottoes.

The japanese cartoon reproduce accurately the landscape of the Gulf of Orosei, the traditions and the local food. It has been translated in English and Spanish and broadcasted worldwide. In the nineties it has been turned into a playstation game too. Unfortunately it has never been translated in italian. In 2013 the student of the Dorgali secondary school coordinated by their teacher Francesco Ticca have dubbed the cartoon in the local dialect of Dorgali.
