Dog Friendly Beaches in Cala Gonone

Vacation with a dog: Yes or no?

In Cala Gonone, the answer is definitely positive. As early as 2013, a dog-friendly area was designated by the local administration along the "S'abba Meica" coastline. With the administration in office since 2017, the situation has further improved. In fact, there are now three designated dog beaches in Cala Gonone. The choice is truly wide. In addition to the aforementioned S'Abba Meica beach, two new areas have been designated. One at the beginning of Lungomare Palmasera, easily accessible from the road. The other stretch of shoreline is located in Osalla, in front of the river of the same name. The latter has received excellent feedback from dog owners as dogs can enjoy both seawater and freshwater for their baths and run freely on the fine sand of this stretch of coast. The designated dog-friendly area is marked on all beaches by an access cord and is easily recognizable. The same recommendations apply to those visiting the beach without a pet, namely to always leave it clean upon departure and to collect organic waste, which can be disposed of at home or at the eco-friendly islands in operation.
